In plain language: When you submit a cleaning request, we use the information you provide to handle that request and may share it with cleaning service providers who may be able to help. We also use limited website analytics to understand and improve ForCleaners.

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ForCleaners handles personal information in connection with ForCleaners.com, customer cleaning requests, cleaning-business applications and related communications.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use ForCleaners, we may collect:

Contact information, such as your name, email address and phone number.
Request information, such as postal code, property type, cleaning service, timing, frequency, bedrooms, bathrooms and details you choose to provide about the job.
Cleaning-business information, such as business name, contact person, service areas, services offered, website, availability and other information submitted in a partner application.
Technical and analytics information, such as pages viewed, referral source, approximate location, device/browser information and interactions with the site.
Communications you send to us about a request, application, privacy question or support matter.

3. Why we use information

We use personal information to receive and process cleaning requests; identify cleaning service providers that may be relevant to a request; allow providers to contact customers where appropriate; communicate about requests and partner applications; operate, secure and improve the website; measure site and advertising performance; prevent fraud, spam and misuse; administer provider opportunities and payments where applicable; and comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing customer requests with cleaning providers

When you submit a cleaning request and consent to sharing, ForCleaners may disclose information from that request — including your contact information and job details — to one or more independent cleaning service providers that may be able to help. Those providers may then contact you about the requested service.

Cleaning providers are independent businesses. Once a provider receives information for the purpose of responding to your request, its own privacy practices may also apply to information it handles.

5. Service providers and analytics

We use third-party services to operate ForCleaners. These may include website hosting and delivery, form processing, analytics, advertising measurement, email and payment services. For example, the website currently uses Netlify for hosting, Formspree for form processing and Google Analytics for website analytics. These providers may process information on our behalf and may process or store information outside your province or outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal codes or free-text cleaning-request details to Google Analytics.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

ForCleaners and its analytics providers may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the site, understand usage and measure marketing performance. Browser settings can be used to limit or delete cookies, although doing so may affect some website functionality.

7. Marketing communications

Submitting a cleaning request does not sign you up for unrelated promotional email or text messages. If ForCleaners introduces optional marketing communications, we will handle consent and unsubscribe requirements separately. Operational messages about a request or partner application may still be sent as needed to provide the service you requested.

8. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including operating the service, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, maintaining appropriate business records and meeting legal requirements. Retention periods may vary by type of information.

9. Safeguards

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Your choices and privacy requests

11. Information you choose to include

Please avoid placing sensitive personal information in the free-text job description unless it is genuinely necessary for the cleaning request. ForCleaners is intended for people who can provide meaningful consent for the information they submit.
